INFORMATION
Due to heavy snowfall and a blizzard near "Chinggis Khaan" International Airport, the airport's runway was temporarily closed for 1 hour and 15 minutes between 08:15 AM and 09:30 AM. Consequently, flights from Ulaanbaatar to Seoul, Beijing, and Tokyo were temporarily delayed during this period.
Due to the situation, road accidents occurred on the highway leading to the airport, resulting in the closure of the road for a certain period. An ambulance from the hospital section of the CKIA arrived promptly and provided first aid to 10 people. Subsequently, 3 individuals were transferred to the Tuv Province General Hospital for further treatment.
The weather improved, and flights resumed normal operations at 09:45 AM.
The road leading to the airport was partially opened at 10:00 AM. Arilines and the Civil Aviation Police Department are advising passengers and customers travelling to the airport to remain alert and exercise caution. Additionnaly, the airlines and the “Chinggis Khaan” International Airport are collaborating to communicate changes in the flight schedule and relevant information to passengers and customers.
