The C909 aircraft is the first self-developed short- and medium-haul regional passenger aircraft in China, compliant with international civil aviation regulations. The C909 aircraft has a capacity to carry 78 to 97 passengers and is capable of flying within a range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers. The C909 aircraft received the Air Type Certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Production Certificate on July 9, 2017. Currently, the C909 aircraft is officially used on regular international flights.

Air China began operating regular flights to the Republic of Mongolia in 1989 and is now one of the largest intermediaries of Chinggis Khaan International Airport. Air China Airlines has made a significant contribution to strengthening the economy, tourism and business relations between the two countries by providing regular flights between major cities such as Ulaanbaatar-Beijing and Ulaanbaatar-Huh hot.
